Candidate Testing Experience

Prior to Exam Day

  • Candidates are instructed to arrive at test center not earlier than 15 minutes prior to exam appointment. 
  • Candidates are reminded to bring two forms of identification;  one must  be a valid government issued photo bearing ID.  Acceptable photo IDs include federal and state issued IDs, valid driver’s licenses, U.S. military IDs, and passports.
  • Candidates will receive reminder notices via e-mail of their scheduled appointment.  Notices include location, date, time, directions, exam name, ID requirements, User ID/Password requirements, and other information regarding the exam.
  • Without proper ID, exam appointments will be considered missed appointments.

Candidate Check-in

  • Proctor verifies candidate’s appointment and confirms candidate’s ID; enters ID information into system
  • Proctor reviews test center security requirements with the candidate
  • Proctor escorts candidate to assigned testing station and stays until candidate launches exam system
  • Candidate must enter unique user ID and password to launch examination 

Exam Administration

  • Test navigation tutorial familiarizes candidate with system, describes how to select responses, mark items for review, and manage progress through exam
  • Candidates may take a brief practice exam to further familiarize themselves with the testing process prior to actual exam launch
  • System informs candidates when actual test is to begin. Instruction screens provide general information about exam, scheduled breaks (if permitted), and additional information
  • Exam questions may display charts, graphs, computer generated images, photographs, streaming audio, and video

Optional Exam Review

  • At end of exam, candidates see a review screen and can review questions they’ve marked for review or questions left unanswered.
  • Candidate can review responses and can return to items they choose or have marked
  • Candidate controls the review or may choose not to review at all

Candidate Satisfaction Survey

  • Survey is voluntary
  • Candidate may provide feedback on exam experience
  • Survey information is used to monitor the quality of the candidate experience and improve processes or test center environment
  • Survey covers exam registration and scheduling, fee collection, proctor care, testing environment, ease of use of the testing system, overall customer service, and other relevant topics.

Post-exam Check Out and Candidate Results

  • Proctor conducts automated review to confirm completion of exam process
  • Proctor prints diagnostic Examination Results Report for candidate
  • Results report may provide next steps in Licensure/Certification process
